What Does it Mean to Be a Woman and Mother in South Sudan?
It’s tough being a woman in South Sudan. A woman has little economic mobility, may be forced into marriage by the age of 14, and, should she become pregnant, she has a one in seven chance of dying due to pregnancy-related causes. As South Soudan edges towards war with Sudan, life for women will likely get more difficult. Strategic Plan for Tuberculosis and Leprosy 2010-2015 Outlines Bold Steps for Better Health Outcomes in Nigeria
To increase harmonization of interventions Nigeria has united national strategies for TB and leprosy control into one plan, the National Strategic Plan for Tuberculosis and Leprosy Control 2010-2015. Health Systems 20/20, together with other partners, participated in the review of the plan, which seeks to reach international TB benchmarks set by Stop TB Partnership and the Millennium Development Goals.

Financing Liberia's Health Care
Health Systems 20/20 is pleased to release the fourth in the Better Health Systems – Strategies that Work series. Since signing the peace accord in 2003, Liberia's government has made tremendous progress in rebuilding the health system. An ongoing challenge for the country, however, has been to shift from providing humanitarian relief to offering affordable, quality health care. This issue describes the development of Liberia’s new health financing policy.
